I needed to call upon Nancy’s help, and as usual, she did not disappoint!
Once again, I needed to call upon Nancy’s help, and as usual, she did not disappoint! We have a new, young horse that does not have much experience loading onto trailers. After owning him for two months, we decided to move to another barn and had to transport him. The day before our move, Nancy alerted Mac that he would be moving to a lovely new farm and why they were relocating,so he needed to load nicely onto the trailer. Surprisingly the next morning, after trying every trick in the book for loading horses unsuccessfully, I decided to give Nancy a call. Fortunately, she was home, had the time, and was able to speak to him immediately. We let him rest for a few minutes to process their conversation. Luckily, he decided to walk right on the trailer!
I called Nancy to share our success. She said Mac told her he didn’t want to leave his friends. Once Nancy assured him that he would make new friends and that someone was probably there waiting to be that new friend, he decided to get onto the trailer. Nancy’s communication with him spared us any further frustration and the possibility of somebody getting hurt. It is always a relief to know that whenever I am having any kind of issue with my many animals, I can always turn to Nancy for help.
PS He is now in a paddock with 3 other horses, and he already has a “best friend” among them!! He is a different horse at the new barn. He’s been so relaxed and seems so happy.
